Dear Emily:

I have read portions of Museum Trusteeship (AAM, 1981) but don't have an
answer to your question regarding legal liability of board membrs. I do
know of a conflict of interest that a Washington, DC art museum
experienced, when one of their trustees founded the American Museum of
Women in the Arts (in WDC) and not only continued to "serve" on the other
museum's board, but also collected policy information from each
department (in order to use it in her new museum???...)

For more information you may contact me off-line thru AMerican
University.
