The Tech Museum of Innovation
Position Available
Campaign Assistant

The mission of The Tech Museum of Innovation is to serve as an educational
resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring and
experiencing technologies affecting their lives, and to inspire young
people to become innovators in developing technologies of the future.

The Campaign Assistant is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the
Campaign Director and Grants & Research Manager.  The Campaign Assistant is
responsible for providing administrative support for the Campaign Director
and Grants & Research Manager, maintaining databases, files and office
organization systems, preparing reports and material for solicitors, and
keeping Tech staff and selected constituents informed about Campaign progress.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Be knowledgeable of The Tech's mission, exhibits, programs and long-range
plans and stay current with the functioning of the entire institution.
· Provide administrative and clerical support for the Campaign Director and
Grants & Research Manager.
· Draft correspondence and facilitate mailings for donor cultivation and
stewardship.
· Keep accurate records; organize and maintain donor databases and files
(primarily Campaign, foundation and government funders). Duties include:
adding or updating donor/prospect records; data entry of codes or
activities relating to donors and prospects; creating reports on a regular
schedule; extracting data for invitations; coding and merging data for
mailings; etc.
· Produce descriptive material on the Campaign for use in briefings and
formal solicitations. Organize and produce materials for board, committee
and staff meetings.
· Track and implement Campaign pledge fulfillment process and gift
acknowledgments.
· Manage production of fundraising update newsletter to donors and prospects.
· Coordinate compilation of donor lists and updates for newsletters, annual
reports, donor walls and The Tech web site.
· Assist with proposal and grant report organization and assembly.
· Coordinate meetings, including preparation for breakfasts, lunches and
receptions with donors.
· Develop and maintain office organization systems. Coordinate with all
development staff.
· Suggest and develop concepts to enhance stewardship with all donors.
· Develop and maintain professional skills and relationships with peers. 
· Provide other support such as filing, photocopying, mailing, scheduling
and coordinating meetings, record keeping, event staffing, handling
telephone inquiries, etc.
· Work as Museum Manager or Assistant Museum Manager on assigned weekend
days and holiday.

Requirements:
· Analytical, efficient and detail oriented.
· Excellent organizational skills; familiarity with general clerical duties.
· Positive team player with an upbeat attitude in a fast paced environment.
· Excellent writing and communication skills.
· Proficient word processing,  database and presentation software skills
required (Window/DOS). Experience with Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge, FileMaker
Pro, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Pagemaker is desirable. Familiarity with
the Internet and HTML a  plus.
· Ability to work with highly confidential information.
· Resourcefulness and ability to work independently and creatively while
functioning as part of the development and overall Museum team.
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Non-profit development experience
preferred.
· Willingness to work on weekends occasionally and availability for special
events. 
· An interest in science, technology and education; experience or training
in related field desirable.
· Bi-lingual is a plus.
