Who recruits sponsorships for your programs and events? Is it the program and events staff? Is it the membership staff - or development?

We're having the discussion here about whether programming staff should be seeking sponsorships, since they know their program the best and can sell it - or if all sponsorship recruitment should come from one consistent source person.

I'm especially interested to hear from smaller institutions that may not have a multi-staff development department.
