 Job of Temporary Museum Assistant

 Hours: 10 hours to be worked ideally on Thursdays and Fridays (times
negotiable) for 6 months to start as soon as possible after Easter.

 Salary range


£6.00 - £7.00 per hour depending on experience.  Report to: Museum Officer Responsible for: volunteers  Purpose of job  To be responsible for new acquisitions and the cataloguing and care of The  Galleries' museum collections in order to free up the Museum Officer's time to  work on design issues.  Specific duties include:      1.. To undertake the collection and acceptance of new items connected with  appeals and other donations according to The Galleries Acquisition and Disposal  Policy.      2.. To undertake the cataloguing, accessioning and numbering of donations  and loans.      3.. To accomplish the reorganisation of the store with volunteers      4.. To regularly download and back up the environmental data in the store      and monitor conditions.      5.. To ensure regular checking of insect traps      6.. To participate in the cleaning of the store      7.. To supervise volunteers working on the collection      8..
