National Civil Rights Museum (Memphis, TN).

SUMMARY: Oversees and manages museum collections including research,
cataloguing,accessioning, storage and preservation, and budgeting.
Recruitment and supervision of collections area interns, development of
collections policies and procedures as warranted.  Assists with installation
of temporary and permanent exhibitions.  In absence of registrar, processes
registration files, cataloguies objects, conducts inventory, prepares
condition reports, performs database entry.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:   Bachelor's degree in Museum studies, history,
education or related discipline; minimal two (2) yrs progressively
responsible experience in education and/or museum interpretation. Experience
with social activism, knowledge of civil rights movment history and/or
working interest in African American history very helpful.  At least two (2)
years experience serving in a management level position with supervisry
experience; considerable knowledge and experience of Past Perfect software
database programming. Excellent organizational planning, administrative,
writing, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in desktop publishing, and
spreadsheet development, Power Point proficiency.  Experience in strategic
planning, multi-task project capability, grant writing, digitizing
collections, and working with volunteers a plus.

SALARY:  $31,000-$38,000 dependent upon experience
