At a meeting of the Waterloo-Wellington Museums and Art Galleries Network (our
local consortium of cultural institutions), we had a presentation by the local
police force addressing issues such as how and under what circumstances can we
ask a visitor to leave, how to handle unruly visitors, dealing with vandalism,
how to handle thefts when we have the perpetrator at-hand, shoplifting in the
gift shop, etc.

We as a Network are going to work toward a policy in this regard, which
ultimately will have to be tailored to each of our institutions and wonder if
any other museums have developed a policy around these types of issues.

Thanks in advance. Please respond directly to my email.
