We are a small museum in Tucson, AZ. We charge $0.50/person more for a
guided tour (arrangements have to be made in advance and it must be a
group of 10 or more). Also, we allow AZ and NM teachers (but not their
entire family) in for free in exchange for their contact information in
the hopes that they will bring their students to the museum.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Admission fees for out of state and tour fees

Hello all,
Does your institution charge a different rate for out-of-state
admission fees? If so, how is this justified? Is it that residents pay
taxes and thus should be charged less?
Maybe this is not a state-thing, but a city thing. I was just in
Chicago and I believe the Shedd gives discounts to Chicago residents.
Does your institution give any breaks based on geography?

Secondly, does you instituion charge for guided tours? How much?

I appreciate any replys to [log in to unmask]
Thanks
Dan
