POSITION VACANCY

The Art Gallery, University of New Hampshire

Educational Program Coordinator I
(Education//Publicity Coordinator)

Seeking experienced coordinator of The Art Gallery's public programs,
including the Outreach Program for K-12 school children, and manager of
publicity and marketing for The Art Gallery's exhibitions, public programs,
and membership program.

Responsibilities:  Recruit and train 25-30 volunteers; organize all public
programs, receptions, members' trips, and special events; coordinate
publicity for exhibitions and programs (including contact with critics and
editors in print and broadcast media); design ads for print media; manage
and update content on website; prepare and distribute membership newsletter;
and assist with annual membership drive.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree (art or art history strongly
preferred); 2 years experience producing educational programs (preferably in
a museum setting).

Additional desirable qualifications: Thorough knowledge of art history
(especially modern and American), as well as art materials and techniques;
excellent supervisory and communications (writing and public speaking)
skills; familiarity with audio-visual equipment (slide, video, and film
projectors, PowerPoint presentations, microphones, etc.); some graphic
design ability; proficiency in a range of computer applications (PC-based
Microsoft Office, Outlook, Dreamweaver, Adobe PageMaker and Photoshop).

Full-time position (40 hrs./wk., 12 months).  Starting salary range:
