Different aspects could influence your flooring choices. The first is
surely the type of objects that will be exhibited and their needs in terms
of display and interpretation. Are you exhibiting contemporary art works,
creating a children's museum or explaining local history? Is it for
permanent or temporary displays? How many visitors are expected? What is
the general concept of the projected building? (etc.)

The classic choice is often hard wood floors. It is a lasting solution, it
mixes well with a variety of type of exhibits... It's probably not the
cheapest solution but can surely be worth the investment in the long run.
Then again, your collection and interpretative program could allow for
different creative solutions!
