The Working Group on Industrial Archaeology of 'Department of
Architecture' of the 'Hogeschool voor Wetenschap en Kunst' (School of
Higher Education for Sciences and Arts) is actually preparing a survey on
conservation projects dealing with the heritage of the brick and tile
industry: e.g. museums, brick and tile collections (public and private),
historic brick and tileworks preserved or reused, research carried out
by research institutes, schools and universities or volunteer
associations, etc.
A first version of this survey will be presented during a 3-days meeting
on brick and tile heritage to be held in the autumn of 1997 in Ghent and
in the brick-making region of Boom in Belgium.
We should be delighted to get in touch (on list or off list) with
everyone who is dealing with these topics. Please inform us about brick
and tile museums you know of.

Many thanks !
