It is so interesting to me to read the posts about
this!  I also moved from theater to museum studies. I
was a theater major as an undergrad, worked in LA and
NY for many years before deciding to switch paths.
People thought I was nuts too!  But, as I finish grad
school and embark on my museum career (slowly but
surely, lol!) I find my theatrical background serves
me very well in my new chosen field.  Hopefully one
day, I will find the time to get back into acting on
some level, but for now I am so content with my
choice!  I have tried to explain to people that the
transition seems completely normal to me--both are
ulitmately studies in culture and society.  I am so
glad to see that I am not alone!  Thanks for letting
