We post a small format notice at the admissions desk with the name of the
exhibition followed by "contains material that may be inappropriate for some
visitors." The admissions clerks ensure that those who bring children are
aware of the specific nature of the material that may cause concern.

Subject: mature audiences

I am seeking advice on the most tactful, professional way to indicate that
an exhibit is for mature audiences only, without disrespecting the artist or
the intelligence of the museum visitors.

Thanks,
