Position:  Director of Exploris Enterprises
Closes: 2/28/98

The Director of Exploris Enterprises will develop products and services
designed to complement and enhance the educational mission of Exploris,
and will direct the design, development, management and oversight of
Exploris's retail operations.  Retail operations are both on-site,
through a unique and innovative 2,700 s.f. museum store, and on the
Internet.  Immediate responsibilities include creating a merchandising
plan, developing a product line, establishing an inventory and purchase
order system, assisting with the physical layout of the on-site store,
producing Grand Opening promotions,  establishing electronic commerce on
the Exploris web site, and developing a business plan and preliminary
profit/loss analysis. Long-term responsibilities also include developing
and implementing plans for the production and sale of other Exploris
products and services to complement Exploris's educational programs and
exhibits. Exploris seeks an individual with strong entrepreneurial
skills and proven successful retail management experience. Exploris is a
hands-on global learning center dedicated to providing opportunities for
young people to learn to respect differences, appreciate similarities
and make connections with people of the world. Exploris is scheduled to
open in August 1999.

Required qualifications
*       Minimum of five years retail experience with at least three
years in a management capacity.
*       Practical experience in establishing and adhering to fiscal
guidelines.
*       Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
*       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*       A strong commitment to meeting the educational and fiscal goals
of Exploris.
*       Experience with use of the Internet and on-line retail
operations preferred.
