We have seriously discussed the possibility of doing
such an inventory state wide here. Our thoughts have
been along the lines of inventorying, for instance, all
the tractors in museum collections so that the 160 plus
museums in this state don't all collect the same model
of the same brand of tractor, and ignore the other
models, years and brands which ought to be preserved
somewhere. The same principle could be applied to many
other types of artifacts. Why do you ask?
