Roger,
I tried to do a fair amount of research prior to our launch, but most of
what I found is reflected in your link.  Most data will reflect a
commercial/retail marketing application.  The mention of museums in the
link is a bit flawed in the fact that if someone isn't patient enough to
download the scanner, which only takes one time and not long, I had my
doubts about whether that same user would be patient enough to type in the
URL for every work/object that for which it's provided.
As I said before, I encourage each of you to experiment with it.  For our
predominant demographic (which admittedly is an academic setting), it was
a good fit and was well worth the time, based on the informal feedback
that I've gotten.  I hope that will be backed up with statistical data and
will share that when my colleague gets it to me.
