I'm not sure about Museum Studies programs in England, but I would like to
recommend an excellent internship program. The University of Rochester
offers museum internships in London and other top European cities. You do
not need to be University of Rochester student to participate. I wasn't,
but my home college facilitated transfer credits, etc. for me to participate
in this program.

I spent a semester in London as an intern at the Royal Armouries, HM Tower
of London. That internship still ranks as one of the best experiences of my
life. I was an American with no knowledge about arms and armour, but my
internship supervisor and the Royal Armouries staff treated me wonderfully.
I learned so much about museum work through this experience. The University
of Rochester also made all the arrangements for transportation and housing.
In fact, they set us students up in furnished flats adjacent to the Thames
across from St. Paul's Cathedral -- can't beat that!

Cheers!
Laura
