Glad to know there are so many FileMkaer fans out there, it is a very
versatile database. It is FULLY relational and has been since v3.0. Not
sure what Susan means when she says "it relates databases not tables" In
FileMaker what is called a FILE is known as a TABLE in other forms of
relational database. Prior to v3.0 when it was a flat database it had
what was known as "look-ups" which might be the source of confusion.
Simply put, a relational database enables you to display, edit and use
data in the related file without having it copied into the master file.
FileMkaer is every bit as powerful as Access but easier to use in my
opinion. I designed professional databases for a living using FileMaker,
including some for Disney. It is also ideal for making very graphic
intensive interactive touchscreen displays as interpretative mechanisms
for exhibits - it has a"kiosk" developers version which eliminates all
the normal menus and such.

>Access. It relates databases, not tables.
