Alexandra,

For our open hearth cooking programs, we use dutch ovens, or "bake
kettles" as they were called, we purchased from Jason Townsend and Son,
Inc. and Smoke and Fire Company. These are perhaps not totally
historically accurate, but both have on-line stores and they serve our
needs quite nicely.

For other suppliers of open hearth cooking equipment that may be more
accurate, e-mail one of the following specialists in the Delaware
Valley. Any could perhaps point you in the right direction for a
supplier of totally accurate goods:

PastMasters in Early American Domestic Arts: www.pastmasters.info

Heart to Hearth Cookery: www.hearttohearthcookery.com

Deborah's Pantry: www.deborahspantry.com

Hope this helps!

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Reproduction Dutch Oven

I am looking for someone to reproduce a cast iron Dutch Oven,
appropriate
to the 1760s. It will be for an installation at the William Paca House
in
Annapolis, Maryland, so it must be a historically-accurate reproduction
of
a domestic example. Thank you for any assistance!
