The Museum Association of New York publishes a salary survey every
two years, which you can purchase by contacting the Association at
189 Second Street, Troy, NY  12180 or 518/273-3400.  The survey
reports its results several different ways:  budget size, museum
discipline, and location (rural vs. urban).  Have used it many times
to establish compensation ranges.  I recommend it.
