Public Relations, Marketing & Special Events Coordinator

The Kelowna Museum Association includes the Kelowna Museum, the British
Columbia Orchard Industry Museum, the B.C. Wine Museum as well as our
affiliate the Okanagan Military Museum.

We currently seek a creative and dynamic individual who, responsible to
the Associate Director, will create, develop and implement a global
marketing communications strategy that will strengthen our position in the
community.  With sensitivity to the arts and cultural field and museums in
particular, you will coordinate the Association’s public relations: you
will manage the annual advertising budget, identify appropriately prepared
and placed promotional materials and other partnered marketing vehicles,
and develop and coordinate all special events.

As the ideal candidate, you possess Grade 12 plus the completion of a
diploma or degree with a specialization in public relations or marketing
communications OR a minimum of three years demonstrated experience with
marketing communications projects or an equivalent combination of
education, training and experience.

You possess knowledge of:
• Current trends in marketing strategic planning (advertising,
promotion, market research)
• Tourism marketing
• Marketing trends in the cultural market

You have three years of experience in:
• Event coordination
• Writing and implementing global marketing communications strategies
• Developing advertising campaigns
• Securing media and event sponsorships
• Implementing promotions and cross-promotions projects
• Budget management
• Conducting and interpreting market research

This is a permanent, full-time position
$25,480 to $27,391 per annum (depending on experience), plus benefits
