JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Director of Administration
Pacific Asia Museum, Pasadena, CA

Pacific Asia Museum is housed in the historic Grace Nicholson Building, completed in 1926 in the style of a Chinese imperial palace.  The museum, founded in 1971, promotes the understanding of and appreciation for Asian and Pacific Island arts and cultures through its exhibitions and educational activities.  The permanent collection consists of over 17,000 objects.  The annual operating budget is approximately $1.2 million, and there is a 24 person staff.

The Director of Administration reports to the Executive Director and oversees finance, budgeting, accounting, personnel, facilities management, visitor services, security, the Museum Store, and other administrative areas.  

Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field required; MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred.  Three years of arts non-profit management experience required, preferably with an art museum.  Must be adept at both word processing and spreadsheet software applications, and possess strong communication skills, judgment and diplomacy.
