Another thing along the small, but personal, would be to have some of their
favorite goodies in the break room.

We have certain volunteers who are coffee drinkers and they let us know how
much they appreciate us knowing that and making sure there is coffee for
them to drink on their break.  Some have a sweet tooth for certain danishes
(so we add a corny note attached an apple danish for the apple of our eye).
It just makes them feel a little special that we remember these small things
about them and try to do these for them as little "thank you"s.

I mean just think of little things that you would like for someone to do for
you to let you know that you are doing a job well or you handled a certain
situation with grace.  And let that be a guide for things you can do for
your volunteers.
