EXHIBIT DEVELOPER

The mission of The Tech Museum of Innovation is to serve as an
educational resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in
exploring and experiencing technologies affecting their lives, and to
inspire young people to become innovators in developing technologies of
the future.

The Tech Museum of Innovation, located in downtown San Jose, is seeking
an experienced and creative professional to serve as the Exhibit
Developer for the Explorations Gallery.  Explorations is one of four
galleries planned for the new, expanded museum scheduled to open in
1998.  Explorations focuses on the technologies we are using to
investigate the world around us, with an emphasis on seismology, ocean
exploration, and space exploration.  The Explorations Exhibit Developer
will have overall responsibility for managing, performing, and
coordinating research, content development, consulting, fabrication, and
evaluation for the implementation of the exhibit theme.  A particular
focus will be on developing relationships between museum and local
industry, and on making effective use of material developed to date.
This is a full-time exempt position reporting to the Manager of Exhibit
Development.

Requirements:  A degree in science, engineering, design, science
education, or related field; exhibit development, product development,
design project management or related creative experience that involves
working with designers, exhibit developers, AV producers and industry;
strong oral communication, presentation, and visualizing skills; evidence
of fundraising abilities; and experience with managing budgets.
