I am curious what policies other museums have as to allowing flowers in the
museum for special events, such as receptions or openings. We have a no
flower policy, but it inevitably creates some awkward situations, such as
for major governmental receptions, or if well wishers send flowers for an
art opening and we won't accept them. Our primary local florist says they
spray for bugs in-house, and the flowers are treated by the growers (out of
state) as well. But of course flowers can come from a variety of sources. I
searched the archive but didn't find much on this topic. Thanks.
