You are invited to attend a Professional Development Seminar presented by
the Institute for Learning Innovation on this Thursday, September 20, 2001
at the Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, 801 Chase Street, Annapolis,
Maryland. Seminars are offered at no charge and are held from 4:30 - 5:30
followed by a wine and cheese reception. The topic of this seminar will be:

"Do free-choice learning institutions change visitors' attitudes and
behavior? How? and How do we know?"

Dr. Leslie M. Adelman and Dr. Marianna Adams, Senior Associates, Institute
for Learning Innovation, will discuss a model for behavioral change which
provides a framework for understanding and investigating changes in
visitors' attitudes and behaviors. They will highlight several recent
longitudinal studies, conducted in a variety of free-choice settings, that
provide evidence of change, with focus on assessing the nature and magnitude
of change, as well as the implications for program/exhibition development.

To register for this seminar or to receive more information, please contact
Patricia Turner Custard at [log in to unmask] or call 410-268-5149.
