Apologies to the list for not putting our address! The Danvers Historical
Society is located in Historic Danvers formerly Salem Village on the North
Shore of Boston. We have had some extremely talented and enthusiastic
volunteers and interns over the last year and we are hoping we may find some
more for this upcoming year. As a small institution we own 5 historic
properties, earliest dating from 1692 and the latest built as a collection
storage and exhibit hall in 1930. We have a small staff, around 8 only one
full-timer and a part-time Curator. As with many smaller non-profits we are
always financially challenged and as always have much to do. Any one who
ventures into our doors receives a real slice of life in this level of the
museum world, learns a great deal ( according to our feedback this year)
depending on their level of expertise and hopefully finds enjoyment and
fulfillment in knowing that they are helping us achieve bigger and better
things.

We do not intend to exploit people and are purely intending to create an
enjoyable work and educational experience for people who wish to see all
sides of the museum world at work. Some of the best things we have
accomplished have been achieved only with the help and volunteer time of
graduates who wanted to help make a difference. We currently have a PhD
candidate who wishes to volunteer until she goes back to school next year,
who has offered to do anything we have needed, this has included, painting
the porch, putting primer on windows before the winter, putting up an
exhibit with the Curator, sympathy hugs and developing and giving historical
and architectural tours.

I apologise if you feel this is inappropriate and I will remove our listing
if necessary!
