Dear Tom-
RE:  the rotary quern.  You probably know that these were never used in the
New World.  I know where many are in museums, etc. in Europe, Middle East,
etc.  For instance, the Liverpool Museum has the most extensive collection
of querns in the world, I believe.  I did some research there.  Another
suggestion:  there is a guy who has replicated rotary querns and
demonstrates grinding with them.  I saw his demo and heard his paper at a
conference in France a few years ago and, if you wish, I could look up who
he is an put you in touch.  I think that he is Italian or French.  Why do
you want to use a rotary quern?  Why don't you use a "metate" and "mano?"
