I am the Art/Architecture librarian at Virginia Tech writing with a
reference question from Professor Milka Bliznakov of the Architecture
Department here.  She is searching for paintings by the Bulgarian painter
Vladimir Dimitrov-Maistora (1882-1960) in American collections. His work
was collected by John Oliver Crane (1899-1982) in the 1920s.  Crane also
obtained works by Vasil Zakhariev (1895-1971) and Jan (Ivan) Vaclav
Mrkvichka (1856-1938).  If anyone has information on Dimitrov-Maistora or
other Bulgarian artists in American collections, please e-mail me directly
