Margaret,

As an objects conservator I would like to say that you have posted a
very good solution, especially if these wooden objects are stored in a
less than ideal environment. I would say, that if you did incorporate
tyvek covers, that you MUST monitor the condition of these objects
regularly to look for any changes due to RH fluctations (you are
essentially creating a micorenvironment after all) and also to monitor
for pests. If you leave them unmonitored pests could literally eat
them out from the floor up and you would have little idea that this
was happening.

I always listen to the idea of my colleagues in the other conservation
specialties, as they will often offer a different perspective on
issues that can be invaluable.

Cheers!
Dave
