The "real purpose" of the site is to provide visitors with a way to voice
their visit experiences to other visitors. When individuals are planning
their travel itineraries they can consult the site to find institutions that
they would want to visit. The hope is that this site would serve as a museum
equivalent to places like Yahoo! Travel and zagat.com.

For museums, it would provide a way to measure their success in the eyes of
their visitor. Are we meeting the expectations of our visitors? Are we
providing a successful experience?

There is no way that a museum could pay for stacked reviews. Moderators are
in place to view all submitted content and to track things like email and IP
addresses of users to ensure that no institution is providing fake reviews
or ratings.
 _______________

"And what's the real purpose of the site? Is this just an informational
kind of thing, or is this revenue-generating as in an organization could pay
to get itself rated more favorably? How does one validate that the ratings
are not stacked?"
