I like the idea of discussing why/how we got
interested in the field. It is a positive way to
redirect the list.

When I was very young my mother used to take me to the
park and tell me to pick out objects that I liked.
When I got home I created a collage out of the
objects. Later, in high school I took an advanced
humanities course. My teacher was very inspiring and
pushed us to write a paper on something that
interested us. I chose Frank Duveneck and spent
months studying his paintings. I wrote the paper and
got an A. I thought it was the easiest A I ever got
because I loved researching the artist so much. I
have been hooked on art history since that time. I
look forward to hearing about other people's
experiences.
