        Hi all ---

I have about three points to make that probably have nothing
to do with each other, but here goes:

1.) I really dislike having whole articles reposted with a reply.
I can usually remember a thread without seeing the initial article.
If people absolutely MUST repost articles, maybe they can post the
pertinent parts instead of the whole thing. While I have the
soapbox, I might also make the following rule. If your signature
file is longer than your message, please either shorten the signature
or dont bother posting the message.

2.) I have a fairly good reason to feel strongly about not wasting
huge amounts of bandwidth. The Museum of Paleontology gopher now has
an archive and index of all Museum-l postings from January thru April
1994 and will continue to archive postings throughout the year at the
end of every month. Take a look by gophering to ucmp1.berkeley.edu
and looking for the top menu item called Museum Listserver Archive.
Let me know what you think.

3.) Finally, we hope to have the archive up on our Web server in the
near future. And speaking of Web servers... I only know two or three
other museum servers besides ours and the Exploratoriums. One is
the Krannert Art Museum in Illinois and the another is Louvre in, well
you know where the Louvre is. If people are interested, I can post
some URL's (Universal Resource Locators) which have compiled "virtual
museum" locations on the Internet.

Cheers,
