Oh, I don't know.  I thought The Immigration Museum (Adelaide) did a good
job of tackling its issues head-on and with a clearly apparent
point-of-view.  Ditto for Our World Environment (Bribane), if a little
heavy-handed and unfocused.  And I recall a fairly even-handed treatment of
gun control/ownership issues... I think in Melbourne, but don't quote me.
Maybe it merely reflects the institutions I happened to visit, but I felt
Australian museums were much more willing to tackle issues (and even take
sides) than their American counterparts.

(Of course, my favorite interprative tour was MCG...)
