The quilt show at the Oakland Museum of California in 1981 was called
"American Quilts, A Handmade Legacy." It was one of our most popular shows
ever. A catalogue was produced but has all but sold out. A reference copy
is available at the museum. The person to speak to about the exhibit is Inez
Brooks-Myers, Curator of Costume and Textiles. You'll have to use old
fashioned communication technology:
510-238-3842 or Oakland Museum of California, 1000 Oak St., Oakland, CA
 94607.
