FULL-TIME POSITION AVAILABLE
Corporate Support Coordinator

The mission of The Tech Museum of Innovation is to serve as an educational
resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring and
experiencing technologies affecting their lives, and to inspire young
people to become innovators in developing technologies of the future.

The Corporate Support Coordinator is a full-time, exempt position reporting
to the Director of Corporate Support.  The Corporate Support Coordinator is
primarily responsible for soliciting and securing cash donations of up to
$2,500 from corporations through the Corporate Affiliates program to
support The Tech's Annual Fund for Education.

Responsibilities:
* Be knowledgeable of The Tech's mission, exhibits, programs and long range
plans and stay current with the functioning of the entire institution.
* Work closely with all members of the Development Department to support
the whole spectrum of fund raising efforts.
* Coordinate all activities closely with other members of the Development
Department to ensure that The Tech benefits from an efficient and
productive fund raising effort.
* Work closely with the volunteer members of the Corporate Support
Committee and involve them whenever possible in all aspects of prospecting,
solicitation and securing of corporate donations.
* Identify potential corporate donors by using all possible prospecting
tools and techniques including corporate directories, newspaper and other
media reports, volunteer contacts, donor lists from other institutions,
networking, Internet searches, etc.
* Contact potential corporate donors using all possible tools and
techniques including personal visits, cold calls, telephone calls, direct
mail, e-mail, fax, etc.
* Secure corporate contributions using all possible tools and techniques
including personal visits, telephone calls, proposal writing, etc.
* Assist Development Assistant with administration of donor benefits and
recognition.
* Maintain accurate and timely records of all activities using Blackbaud
Raiser's Edge fund raising computer system and other systems as needed.
* Assist with the implementation of recognition and cultivation events for
corporate donors.
* Prepare reports on fundraising progress.
* Coordinate Affiliate renewal process with development assistant.
* Work as a Museum Manager or Assistant Museum Manager on assigned weekend
days and holiday.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
* Sales experience, preferably selling services to corporations.
* Career or volunteer experience with non-profits preferred.
* Familiarity with Silicon Valley companies and industries preferred.
* Excellent written and verbal skills.
* Windows/DOS computer systems experience including word processing,
spreadsheet and data base programs (Blackbaud Raiser's Edge fund raising
package preferred).  Ability to learn new programs quickly is a plus.
* Ability to work with highly confidential information in a fast-paced
environment.
* Ability to work closely with and coordinate volunteers.
* Availability for special events.
* Ability to work independently & creatively while functioning as a part of
the development and overall Museum team.
* Appreciation of the educational mission of The Tech.
