The MUA would like to announce a new contribution to the website.  Flinders University graduate student Mark Opdyke has submitted a post on his field survey of a Chesapeake Bay skipjack, the Joy Parks.  Mark has been recording and analyzing construction details of this vessel currently housed at the Piney Point Lighthouse Museum in Maryland as part of his Master’s thesis.  By crawling over every inch of this vessel Mark has gathered construction and design details that allow him to do a comparative study with other skipjacks.

I’d like to say thank you to all those teachers, museum staff, and government agency folks who are helping us reach so many students.
