SENIOR ANALYST, ENTERPRISE CONTENT MANAGEMENT

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks a Senior Analyst for Enterprise Content Management to work in our Information Systems and Technology Department.  The Senior Analyst for Enterprise Content Management for electronic publishing will provide direct, technology-related support to Museum staff and projects that involve the publishing of digital content, and will propose methods for streamlining and automating workflow processes so that Museum staff can more easily save, share, and retrieve digital content.  This person will report directly to the Deputy Chief Technology Officer in the Information Systems and Technology Department.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
·     Design, code, test, implement, and maintain components of intranet - and internet-based systems that organize and publish Museum content
·     Participate in the ongoing development of the Museum intranet site
·     Work in close collaboration with Museum staff to assist in the creation, digitization, archiving, researching, and utilization of digital resources/content
·     Participate in metadata specification and coding
·     Work collaboratively to streamline workflows that involve content providers and content publishing tools
·     Develop and implement technology solutions for the production of multimedia content, including online publishing, streaming audio and/or video, CD/DVD production, etc.
·     Bring web-related and multimedia-related perspectives to the Museum's technology project planning efforts
·     Integrate new and existing systems with web and multimedia technologies
·     Organize, track, and coordinate digital-content-related IS&T projects
·     Maintain all relevant project schedules
·     Participate in project-planning, including the preparation of budget recommendations and resource allocations
·     Complete projects on-time and on-budget
·     Evaluate new technologies for potential use at the Museum, particularly content management, digital asset management, and multimedia production
·     Participate in planning technology and setting standards for digital sound, digital still image, and digital video content for multiple end-use projects and tasks
·     Find and correct errors and bugs within intranet and internet pages that are related to content management and multimedia production
·     Create, edit, and improve automated workflows (e.g., computer scripts) that are related to content management and multimedia production
·     Produce regular status reports on new technologies, updates to previous reports, and documentation of technical support information     
·     Other related duties


Successful candidates will possess at least three years of experience in a busy office environment, preferably in publishing production. This person will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including editing skills and the ability to train others; must have the ability to produce results independently and as part of a collaborative team; must have the ability to coordinate and accomplish multiple projects/activities simultaneously; must have experience with developing and supporting advanced websites, including multimedia technology applications; Must have a college degree in Web Development/Design, Management Information Systems, or other related program; and must have knowledge of Project Management Methodologies.  Experience working within Non-profit Arts or Cultural Organizations is preferred.  Experience in a mixed platform environment (PC and Macintosh) is preferred, especially previous experience with Apple Scripting language. Other operating system and software application skills are preferred.  Must be proficient with the following:  Microsoft Windows NT/2000/XP, HTML, XML, Java, Microsoft FrontPage (or other web design tools), Microsoft IIS, FileMaker Pro, Microsoft SQL.
