I'm a graduate of the GWU museum studies program; I would highly recommend
it!  Many of the museum courses focus on collections management issues and
several of the professors also work in various museums in the capital area.
The program also requires you to have an academic concentration in whatever
area you majored in as an undergraduate.  They do have an anthropology
concentration; a friend of mine was in that part of the program and was very
