Hello everyone

Can any museum professionals in Europe possibly assist me?

I am an education officer at the Durban Natural Science Museum, South Africa; and am responsible for the very popular KwaZuzulwazi Science Centre.

At present there are only 12 science centres in Africa - all of them in South Africa. KwaZuzulwazi is by far the busiest, with 61 500 people visiting this small (50m square) centre last year (the Natural Science Museum has been the busiest museum in the country for 2 years running - 353 000 visitors last year).

The South African Association of Science & Technology Centres (SAASTEC), which hopes to promote science centres in Southern Africa in a big way, was recently established. I am presently secretary of SAASTEC.

Unfortunately my wife and I have to emigrate to Europe (preferably Italy or Iceland) in the near future. Can anyone please take a few minutes to let me know what employment prospects are like in the European science museum (or general education) field. I also speak Italian, Greek and Afrikaans.

Any enlightening information would be much appreciated!

Thank you.
