Dear List members:

Recently, Yale University Press published ENCYCLOPEDIA OF UNDERWATER AND
MARITIME ARCHAEOLOGY, edited by James P. Delgado.

You will find more information about the book on our website at
http://www.yale.edu/yup/books/delgadoS98.html.

The ENCYCLOPEDIA OF UNDERWATER AND MARITIME ARCHAEOLOGY, edited by James
P. Delgado, is the first comprehensive reference book on the discovery
and recovery of the submerged past. Written by an international team of
archaeologists and other scientists who have made the actual
discoveries, extensively illustrated and easy to read, this fascinating
book explores spectacular underwater discoveries around the world and
across time: prehistoric American Indian settlements; submerged Bronze
and Iron Age settlements; sunken Phoenician, Greek, and Roman cities and
harbors; Viking ship burials; ancient warships and merchant craft in the
Mediterranean; warships sunk during atomic bomb tests; and much more. It
was published by Yale University Press in association with the British
Museum Press February 11, 1998.

ENCYCLOPEDIA OF UNDERWATER AND MARITIME ARCHAEOLOGY is a one-stop
shopping adventure for those interested in ships, seafaring, and the
recovery efforts.

Please let us know if you'd like more information.
