NO, on the contrary. I think it is entirely appropriate for a museum
seeking lodging for a traveling youth group to ask assistance from their
museum colleagues. This is what the list is for. If you traveled much you
would know that travel agents work by commission from the hotels, and the
like. I doubt they would direct folks to cheap or free lodging. That's
often the only way groups like these can afford to travel to see our
institutions and make our visitation numbers look good. Ease up, Mac.
We're all in this together. If you really feel imposed upon, use your
delete button. That's what *it's* for.

All the best of luck to the group from Indy. Cheyenne is a nice town with
good museums. I am sure the trip will be enlightening. Call Karyl Robb
(who ran the Museum Studies program at IU, Indy), Hayward Schrock, Nicky
Schultz or Ellen Atkinson (a former student of mine) at the Wyoming State
Museum or John Gavin at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Heritage museum. They
might be able to direct you to a "Y" or school gym or something. Tell 'em
I sent ya. Make sure you get over the pass to Laramie. It, too, is worth
a visit. You might also look there for lodging. Being a college town,
cheap temporary lodging might be easier to find.

Another suggestion; Boulder is only an hour or so away. Might try there.
Buena suerte.

Cheers,
HBC
