binding, filing, circulation, and patron assistance. Additional duties
at the Senior Museum Scientist level: Supervisory position. Serves as
primary supervisor of student employees. Responsible for coordination of
daily operational aspects (work-flow, supplies, student scheduling) of
the Visual Resource Collection, in addition to all of the above.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

Graduation from college with a degree in the History of Art or
equivalent related work experience. Working knowledge of Asian Art and
at least one Asian language. Strong analytical, organizational, and
interpersonal skills. Effective oral/written communication skills.
Ability to work independently, set priorities, and take initiative.
Ability to function well under pressure of deadlines and with frequent
interruption, while paying strict attention to details. Computer

some supervisory experience in a Visual Resources, library, or museum
setting. Preferred qualifications: MA in History of Art, knowledge of
Western, African, Egyptian and/or Ancient Near Eastern art, some
experience working in a Visual Resources Collection. Experience in
database management, web-design, or image scanning highly desirable.
Appointment will be made at either the Museum Scientist or Senior
Museum Scientist level, based on qualifications and experience.
