I work at Peabody Museum of Natural History, Yale University. I know of
one 1979 study on many different museums. It is called "The Museum
Educator's Manual" by the Brockton Art Center Fuller Memorial Brockton,
Massachusetts. It does not speak to the success of specific institutions
but indicate community profile and services provided at that time. I
have a copy if you think it would help. Call me (203 432-3777.

I would very much be interested in what you find out.

relative suceess of these centers. Why are some successful while others
flounder? Thanks.
