What type of theme is the shadow wall in?
Try to play off that theme.
If it is a cave make the inside with soft molded foam to represent rock
and have it dyed several shades of gray to look like rock. Walls ceiling
and floors. If it is an ice cave play off that theme. You might want a
series of stalagmites and Stalactites to make it more realistic.
(If you can not remember the difference. Remember stalagmites “start at
the floor and MIGHT GET UP TO THE CEILING” where as Stalactites “start
at the ceiling and HOLD TIGHT TO THE CEILING”)
If it is in a house theme make it an old dark basement with an old
furnace in it. Have fun with it.

You can also play with what the shadow wall has to offer. Depending on
the wall sensitivity, you can purchase several small AAA or AA maglight
flash lights that you adjust the beam of light to focus to a point and
add a plastic non transparent disc on the front of the light with a
smaller pin hole (+ or – ˝” diameter hole). Tape this disc to the front
of the flashlight and have it on a small chain mounted to the wall so it
dos not walk off easily. The people can then draw cave paintings with
light on the light wall. Remember to cut off the strobe or when it goes
off it will erase the light art.

Hello,

Our exhibit rooms are rotating with a life expectancy of about 3 years
for
each exhibit. One exhibit, the Frozen Shadows Room, has passed that
life
expectancy. But when we survey our staff and visitors, we find that the

room is so popular that we want to keep it!

Our plan is to keep this fun exhibit and add an additional component to
the
room to give it a new feel. We a have few thousand dollars to invest in

some kind of room renovation project. The room is 144 square feet. Any

additions to the room must be items that tie-in or work well in the dark

environment of the Frozen Shadows room.

Does anyone have any great ideas for add-on components for a Frozen
Shadow
Room?

Thanks in advance for your responses,
Kim Baldwin
