Quantify, quantify, and then quantify some more. Keep
your own Excel spreadsheet with your part-time jobs,
internships, and volunteering. Be able to say, I put
in 1,212 hours doing xxxxxx, and 454 hours doing
yyyyy. That will give you more of a leg up than to
just say part-time.

In addition, be sure to document what you did as in, I
put in 1,212 hours doing xxxxxx, where I designed,
planned, purchased, and directed xxxxxx (action
verbs).

If you can quantify your experience, it gives you a
leg up.

By the same token, if you volunteered your hours, know
what a comparable (entry-level) salary would be and
quantify that. I gave 1,212 hours of my time, which
equates to a $8,484 cost-savings to the institution.

Catch phrases (part-time, intership, etc.) are not
going to get you hired. Give them something specific
they can lock into, and you may be a lot further ahead
in the game.
