DOCENT COORDINATOR POSITION

The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum seeks a creative and
experienced professional to join its Education Department.

The Docent Coordinator will be responsible for developing the new volunteer
program to support Museum educational initiatives for on-site visitors and
outreach to the community. The Docent Coordinator will be responsible for
docent recruitment, selection, training and evaluation; scheduling and
communication with docents; docent recordkeeping; and recognition
activities and programs. She/he will develop or assist with the development
of programs for diverse audiences.

The Docent Coordinator reports to the Director of Education and is an
employee of the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation. She/he works closely
with other education and visitor services staff.

The position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously;
knowledge of learning styles and current educational practices; experience
managing adults and working with varied audiences; ability to work in a
team environment; and the ability to promote and represent the Library and
Museum to the general public.

Qualifications: degree in history, education, or a related field, M.A.
preferred; a minimum of three years’ museum education experience. Full-
time, salaried position with benefits package.
