The Heritage Center at Red Cloud Indian School, one of the nation’s

finest collections of contemporary Native American fine and tribal arts,

seeks a Gift Shop Manager/Buyer to oversee a vibrant and ever-changing

gift shop that buys and sells locally produced arts and crafts. The

person best suited for this position is extremely detail-oriented, self

motivated, meets deadlines, has good communication skills and can

successfully multitask. Computer knowledge is imperative and supervisory

experience and knowledge of fine and/or tribal arts is a plus. Previous

retail and/or purchasing experience desired. The ideal applicant will

have a college degree in museum studies, business, history, Native

studies, art, art history, or related field.





PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES INCLUDE:



*	Responsible for sales, purchasing, merchandising, shop

maintenance, and general customer service.

*	Provide great customer service in a positive manner.

*	Ability to work with people of different ages and backgrounds.

*	Cash handling skills.

*	Assist Director in hiring process for gift shop employees.

*	Train, schedule, and supervise part-time employees.

*	Knowledge and ability to manage the point-of-sale software, with

the ability to provide support and training for part-time employees in

point-of-sale use.

*	Ability to order new inventory and maintain outgoing inventory.

*	Ability to handle the fulfillment of telephone and Internet

sales.

*	Answer emails regarding sales and general questions about gift

shop.

*	Knowledge of inventory and local artists, craftsmen, and vendors

in order to provide quality merchandising purchases, and to develop a

positive rapport and reputation.

*	Ability to organize and prioritize.

*	Regular monitoring of security camera system.
