For the last couple of weeks, we've gone through an
abundance of "Me, too". Someone has a wonderful
document or a request for a wonderful document comes
through, and a volume of posters cry, "Me, too." One
person wants a copy, and so does everybody else.

However, rather than to post "Me, too" privately (copy
the email address of the person who has the treasure
and forward the note directly to them), people just
reply on top of the list. That calls for a higher
volume of mail than usual that merits the delete key
but gets scanned to see if there is a treasure
therein.

There is an easier way to share these documents
(assuming they are not just hard copy but in software
form, i.e., Excel, Access, Word, etc.).

The person who has the treasure can upload them one
time to MuseDocs, and all the "Me toos" can download
them from there. In addition, unless the uploader
requests to have it deleted, it stays there for future
museum folk who realize they suddenly have a need to
pull it down.

Uploading to MuseDocs is a little safer than just
sending the documents to one another because
YahooGroups has a virus scanner before it allows the
document to be stored.

I would suggest you simply consider using MuseDocs
instead of all the extra traffic. It's up to you. If
that's the case, the initial request goes out. The
owner uploads the file and then sends the list a
message that it is now on MuseDocs. Two messages
instead of twenty.

There are probably a lot of shareable documents you
currently have that could be uploaded. MuseDocs has
been around for two years, but there are only a
smattering of documents resident.

You can find it at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MuseDocs
