List members may recall a posting I placed to gauge interest
in an Australian based museum list.

I received 41 responses on and off this list. Two were not
     supportive, 39 were.

The two who raised concerns focussed on the possibility of
     fragmenting MUSEUM-L.

The 39 who supported the idea were very enthusiastic to
carve out a space of relevance to their cultural and
     information needs.

The National Museum of Australia is pursuing the setting-up
of a listserve. Funds are being sort and an outcome should
     be known in several weeks.

Thanks to all for your continued interest.
