Putting It All Together
Integrated Information Systems in Museums


An elusive goal of museums has been to provide central, integrated
information systems that combine object records, research files, photo
resources, oral histories, library materials, archives, and all of the
other computer files, databases, and scraps of paper that together make up
the body of what a museum "knows".  This workshop will provide an
opportunity for discussion and reflection on issues of organizing all that
material, common formats and standards, the creation and integration of
digital materials, and delivery systems, including the Internet.  The
workshop will look at some real strategies for solutions to this problem.
